Romans 8:37-39

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 John 4:7-8

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Dave Coxson-Minister

I've been coming to Corner House since I was as an infant in my mothers arms.  I was baptized into Christ on Thursday, March 27th 1975 during a week long revival service.

I grew up at Corner House where my parents were very active.  My father was an elder and a Sunday school teacher, my mother was a deaconess and a children’s teacher.  My parents were both well thought of and our family had a long history here at the church.

I was introduced to youth group, church camp and Bible bowl competition.  The combination of the three along with the influence of my oldest sister and her children compelled my to want to serve Christ with my life.  My father's passing when I was only 14 years of age also had a bearing on my choice to serve in full‑time Christian ministry. After high school, I went to Kentucky Christian College.

I have been in the Christian ministry since my ordination here at Corner House in September of 1985 and meeting peoples needs is my first priority.  My life’s goal is to bring people together in a variety of  Christ centered ministries either through the avenue of fellowship, or service.

I’m compelled by scripture

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”  (Jeremiah 1:5)

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.  (II Tim. 2:15)

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Eph. 4:11-13)

Geographically, I have had the privilege of meeting, serving with, worshiping with and being in the homes of Christians in 9 countries and 25 US states.  Educationally, I have been stretched and challenged through 6 years of Christian seminary and 35 years of ministry.  Spiritually I have been on a journey that continues to amaze me as to what God can accomplish.

I'd like to grow our church, both Spiritually and numerically, in terms of fellowship groups.  I see our culture continually pull people away from involvement in the church the body of Christ.  My best ministry experiences have come when I have had to opportunity to explain the wonderful good news to people one on one (especially children) and from the pulpit.

I have the unique opportunity of sharing the gospel as a preacher and a teacher by following the words of the Apostle Paul in Romans 10.

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" (Rom. 10:14‑15)

He is in the process of changing and shaping my life through a vast number of experiences. He has changed my life.  He is changing my life.  Furthermore, he will change my life.

Convicting me, guiding me, challenging me, disciplining me.  The Holy Spirit’s role is biblical.

"For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.” (John 3:34)

"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.  (John 6:63)
