31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Growing up my family were regular attenders of the Presbyterian church. when I was 19 years old I started dating my future wife, Judith. She was a member of Four Mile Run Christian Church and invited me to go to church with her. About a year later (1963) I was convicted to be immersed and became a Christian.
I was ordained as a Deacon in 1969 and serviced until 1979. At that time i was ordained as an Elder at Four Mile Run Christian Church. In 1995 I left the church to help start a new church plant. Unfortunately the church plant had to close in 2010. Judith and I began searching for a new new church. After trying several churches in the area, we found Corner House in 2011. We found Corner House to be friendly and like the preaching of the minister, Dave. We placed our membership in 2012. I became an Elder 2 years later in 2014.
I chose to become a Deacon and later an Elder because I feel it is the responsibility of every Christian to serve Christ by serving his Church according to his or her capabilities.
