Introduction TO OUR VISITORS !!! WELCOME TO CHCC !!! The members of Corner House Christian Church welcome you to our website. We invite you to play around and get a feel for who we are and how we try to show Jesus’ love in our daily lives through this technology. So, this page is for you, our guest. We hope it is useful and helpful as you visit us through this avenue and witness for yourself our Christ-centered family of love. In a nutshell, we have Sunday School classes at 9:30 a.m. every Sunday for our 2 year olds through high school, college and career bound, and adults of all ages. ( See below for details of our Sunday School programs. ) We have morning worship service every Sunday at 10:45 a.m. for adult members/guests while classes for the little ones 2 years old through 6th grade are held downstairs. Children’s classes are led by caring Christian adult teachers and teen helpers. Please feel free to utilize this wonderful service for your little ones. ( See below for details of a Typical Sunday Morning Worship Service and the Children’s ministries.) Our nursery is staffed with loving capable members. It is conveniently situated next to the main rear entrance doors of the sanctuary. With its bay windows facing the sanctuary and the built-in intercom system, you will not miss a thing if you choose to stay back there with your little one. We have a great evening program each Wednesday for all school aged children. It begins at 5:30 with a family dinner, then the adults have a bible study while the children have their own age appropriate bible lessons and games. Dress: Corner House is modest casual dress. Suits and ties are great, along with skirts and blouses or jeans and T-shirts. We believe as Jesus does, that it does not matter what you wear as long as it is modest. Parking/Elevator/Entry Corner House Christian Church faces the North. Main parking is paved and spreads out behind the church with additional gravel parking to the East by the field and the parsonage. Handicapped parking is to the West of the building, nearest the cemetery, with direct access to the elevator. The elevator has 3 stops. Floor ONE takes you down to the Fellowship Hall, the kitchen, 2 restrooms, and all classrooms. Floor TWO opens to the parking lot. Floor THREE delivers you up to the chapel, the Sanctuary, nursery, a small single restroom, and the offices. The main entrance to this wonderfully modest brown brick church is in the back Southwest corner of the church, nearest the cemetery. A really nice person will greet you and help you figure out your destination, whether to help you deposit your child in a class or whisk you up to the service. Typical Sunday Morning Worship Service Our worship service begins at 10:45 a.m. Upon arriving and ascending the stairs, you will be greeted warmly by a loving member of our church holding a flyer that tells you the service outline for the morning. Our praise team begins service with mostly contemporary Christian praise songs while mixing in an occasional hymn. We actively serve communion each week (which is passed across the rows) then have a quick collection time. Both of these are optional. Please never feel obligated to take communion or give a monetary gift if the Lord is not calling you to do so. Our minister, David Coxson, next takes us into our worship time with the Lord. His teachings are based heavily in the Scriptures as he leads us in our walk with Christ Jesus. He is very skilled at helping you understand how Jesus and the Bible are relevant to your life as God gives you the desire to want to live your life for Him. When David concludes his lesson, he leaves an opening for you to come forward, an invitation to re-unite your heart with Jesus or become baptized. Our closing song is short and sweet as we conclude the service where David will wish everyone a personal ‘farewell til next time’ at the double doors. Occasionally, we have a social downstairs in the Fellowship Hall, otherwise, we have our chat time with sisters and brothers in the foyer before heading out into the big wide world.
