The Mission Statement at Corner House Christian Church
is this: “Proclaiming Christ’s Salvation by evangelizing
the lost, nurturing and equipping the saved to lead
others to Christ.”

What it means is this: “Telling everyone how great Jesus is,
helping others look toward Him for their salvation and teaching
fellow baptized believers to lead others to Christ as they were.

WE BELIEVE …

We believe that the BIBLE , though written by humans, was inspired by God for us to have and hold to. God expects us to look to Him for answers and His Words contain those answers. We study it for knowledge on how to live honorable lives with Christ as our center and how to defeat that most cunning of deceivers, Satan. The Bible, no matter which of the many versions that are out there, teaches you honesty, integrity, love, compassion, etc,,, and teaches also how to strengthen yourself against hate, selfishness, greed, etc... to live a life full of Jesus.

As it is written in II Timothy 3:16-17: “All Scripture is inspired by God (God-breathed) and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instructions for living right, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped to do every kind of good work.”

We believe that JESUS CHRIST, the physical part of God, is pure. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life and sacrificed His life for us as He took the punishment for us and was crucified for our sins. He then was raised back to life, so that in conquering death He created the path for us to be united with Him in Heaven and live with Him forever. We also believe that He is coming again, soon and will be the ultimate judge of both the living and the dead.

Hebrews 7:26 says it very well: “He is the kind of High Priest we need because He is holy and blameless, unstained by sin. He has been set apart from sinners and is honored above all beings in Heaven.”

Jesus was BAPTIZED, immersed, in the Jordan River. We also immerse our family in our baptismal. It is written in the book of Mark, that Jesus said, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.” Mark 16:15-16

The HOLY SPIRIT, our Advocate, our Helper, our Comforter, is another direct link to God. Christ Himself said, “the Advocate (Comforter), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you about all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 14:26)

Scripture also says in Romans 8:26b, “but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us in groans that words cannot express.”

We believe GOD created everything. Scientists find out more each year that the Bible is a very reliable historical document full of facts and figures, and thousands are coming to realize that only a Supreme Being could engineer this delicate world/universe that we live in. Isaiah 42:5 says: “This is what God the Lord says-- the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out, who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it...”

God created us to love as He loves, and to love Him first and foremost. Jeremiah 29:11-14a tells us that God says, “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all you heart. And I will be found by you,” declares the Lord.” God expects us to obey/love Him and make all of our life decisions after we have consulted Him. As He said, seek Him and we will find Him.

Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-- His good, pleasing and perfect will.”

CHURCH is not a building but a gathering of sinners who are trying to do the right thing. We all have different gifts, talents, goals, ideas, ideals, temperaments, and our very own unique way of expressing ourselves, which is what makes any community work well, so long as the focus is on Jesus and what Jesus wants. Our goal is Jesus.

A church whose focus is LOVE will survive these hard times, learn, grow and become stronger. Romans 12:4-8 shows us that as a church: “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members all have different functions, so in Christ we, though many (the church people), form one body, and each member belongs to all the others (as family). We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is to prophesy, then prophesy; if your gift is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little bit better. We pray that if you come visit us, you will feel the love and warmth that God freely wishes for each of us to experience.
